The device is external with a cable that runs inside that connects to power.It cane be configured for 110vac or 12dc. The AC option also has an ethernet connection for computers that do not have wireless.
The signal can optionally be strengthened with the help of additional accessories, ranging from extension cables, antennas, and a long-range bridge.
